Sneak peek into the learning.
Phonics is a method for teaching people how to read and write an alphabetic language. It is done by demonstrating the relationship between the sounds of the spoken language, and the letters or groups of letters or syllables of the written language.
Phonics involves matching the sounds of spoken English with individual letters or groups of letters. For example, the sound k can be spelled as c, k, q, ck or ch. Teaching children to blend the sounds of letters together helps them decode unfamiliar or unknown words by sounding them out.
Despite being just 26 letters in the English language, there are approximately 44 unique sounds, also known as phonemes. The 44 sounds help distinguish one word or meaning from another. Various letters and letter combinations known as graphemes are used to represent the sounds.
The meta-analysis revealed that systematic phonics instruction produces significant benefits for students in kindergarten through 6th grade and for children having difficulty learning to read. The ability to read and spell words was enhanced in kindergarteners who received systematic beginning phonics instruction.

Once your child starts identifying the alphabets easily and can name different objects by seeing a picture, he or she can start learning Phonics.
That is okay to start with. We will begin with alphabet sounds and both capital and small sounds the same. However, your child's school or you at homeschooling can start work in parallel to make her learn the lower cap cases.
Each child is different and has different learning speed. We have kept a moderate 36 classes to cover up the syllabus.
Each session will be for 45 minutes.
Junior Phonics is about one level, split into three quarters.
It is all about patient learning. Children are being exposed to reading for the first time and it is a very important milestone in their life. Apart from just learning the sound, a correct pronunciation is required to be learnt too. Speeding up the process may cause resistance from the child. We aim to make it a relaxed and fun learning for them.
Initially, we recommend only one class a week. Eventually if the child starts picking up well and shows interest in faster learning, the teacher will recommend more classes if parents are willing. It is better to contemplate at a later stage.
If you feel that your child'd learning needs some correction and an early age is best suited for that, you can enroll her. However, we leave the decision upto you since you know better on what your child can read already. But if she's fluent and perfect, this is not a programme for her. We have our senior phonics classes from UKG onwards for the master learning.
Phonetics is a learning about how to read. Writing isn't a part of the programme.
To engage the kid throughout the week and help her remember what she learnt in class, we may sometimes send you some fun assignments like colouring the picture which starts with alphabet A; or listening to some prescribed story at home etc. But it won't be anything complicated for you.
Under unavoidable circumstances like falling sick, can happen. The teacher will try to repeat those portions with the child as many portions in the syllabus a repetitive to make the child remember and memorise. However, casual absentees are not welcome and it is for the child's benefit that the parent should be careful on not missing out on sessions.
taking a break cause fall out from the batch and catching up is not possible. So, unless you want your child to discontinue permanently from the programme, please avoid it.
Learning is not something which can be made a cent percent fun. There will be hurdles and the child will have to work on certain things to get better grip on the subject. We add a lot of stories, flash cards and tools to make it attractive to the child. Parental guidance will avoid a child from opting out. We have even grade 4 students enrolling for phonics classes. That should be an enough indicator that there is no escaping from learning how to read and the earlier is better. It is a social trauma the child goes through if he can not read and his friends can. Please orient your child for his own good.
Since the child is new to learning Phonics and most parents did not learn the subject when they were small, we understand the dilemma. We have shared a 5 minute video to let you understand how the engagement happens.
Tests are not for such small children. However, we will conduct short reading sessions for kids and update parents on the learning stage in regular intervals. Every three months, there will be a parent-teacher meet online as well where we will discuss progress.
Yes, at a successful completion of the completed programme, there will be a certificate issued.

Phonics generally is taught at a pre-primary age and at that age, a child absorbs almost everything. However, not everyone can or get the right exposure at the right time. For them reading becomes a struggle later on and seeing others of the same age reading fluently, puts them under pressure. Things get worse when they find themselves in a tight spot, having worried parents trying to push them hard.
The condition requires expert handling and the child needs confidence an help from an expert. Mere pushing them to read saying 'someone else of your age can, why can't you'; makes the situation worse. The brain "unlocking" requires a process and our experts are experienced in handling such situations with compassion. A child too, absorbs better from a new teacher without having preconceived notion.
Yes, for a parent who has been struggling with this situation, it is. Avoid getting into confrontation and conflict with your young child as it can affect in many other ways. You can rely of our experienced teachers to take care of the matter.
