Introduction to Fine Motor Skill Art classes

•What is fine motor skill?

~Fine motor skill is the coordination of small muscles, usually involving the synchronisation of hands and fingers, with the eyes. The complex levels of manual dexterity that humans exhibit, can be attributed and demonstrated in tasks, controlled by the nervous system.

•Which part of the brain controls fine motor skills?

The cerebellum. This area of the brain is responsible for fine motor movement, balance, and the brain's ability to determine limb position.

•Why is it important?

~Fine motor skill involves use of small muscles that control hand, fingers and thumb. They help children perform important life tasks like feeding themselves, grasping toys, buttoning and zipping clothes, pencil skills, scissors skills, tying shoelaces, drawing and more.

•What are the components of motor skills?

The six components of motor skills related to fitness are agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction time and speed

•What tools are used in these classes?

~We let child use play dough, kitchen tongs, crayons, vegetables, earbuds, beads, fruit loops, food grains, sponge etc. to enhance skills.

1. At what age can my child join these classes?

2.5 to 3 years is ideal for starting FMS development classes.

2. Will my child of 6 like it?

Art is a form which attracts people without any age bar. Even adults enjoy these activities. As a parent, you will enjoy being a companion to your child as well. These activities are stress busters.

3. What is the session duration?

It's 45 minutes each.

4. How long will these classes continue?

These weekend classes will continue. It's an engagement for the children and they learn many forms of art. they will develop an interest in making similar form of art and may do better than us soon :)

5. What materials will be required to attend these classes?

Simple things which most household has. Paper, scissors, crayon, paint, earbuds, cotton etc. The teacher will tell the requisite for the next class in the previous one. We will intimate you for the first class while enrolling.

6. When are the classes?

You can choose one of these two days- (1) Wednesday 4pm or (2) Sunday 11am while enrolling.

7. If my child misses, say, a weekday class, can I make him to the next weekend class?

We will seek permission from teacher. If the batch is not full, you can. But please minimise such incidences to maintain harmony.

8. How many students will be there in a batch?

A maximum of 10 students per batch.

9. Can my child start class anytime?

We are starting our classes from 22nd November 2020. The enrolment for that is ongoing. Please fill the form above to enrol if not already done.

10. Can I discontinue any time? What is your refund policy?

We take monthly fee(for 4 classes) in advance. As this is non-refundable if you discontinue, you can discontinue after completion of the month.

11. What if my child wants to take a break in between?

Yes, he or she can and can resume any time with the ongoing batch.

12. What happens if he is unable to join a session due to some unavoidable reasons?

The class credit will be lost if not informed in advance.

13. Will there be a demo?

It's simple art form. Nothing complicated to call for a demonstration. We will upload a sample video for your child to see it and develop interest in attending the classes.

14. Will there be a certificate and when?

We will issue a participation certificate after your child attends 24 classes. We will also hold little champ competitions and award for the kids winning these competitions.
